Today, we will explore new words that describe our surroundings. We will read a short text about animals and identify new vocabulary. Understanding these words will help us express ourselves better. We will also discuss the meanings of these words and how they can be used in sentences.
Let's look at the sentence: 'The cat is sleeping.' Notice how we have a subject (the cat) and a verb (is sleeping). We will practice adding adjectives to make our sentences more interesting. For example, 'The fluffy cat is sleeping.' This makes the sentence more descriptive. We will also practice using correct punctuation at the end of our sentences.
Now, I will give you a list of words: 'dog', 'happy', 'runs'. Together, letβs create a sentence using these words. We can say, 'The happy dog runs.' Remember to use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. After we create a few sentences together, you will work in pairs to create your own sentences using new words from our text.
For your independent practice, I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Use at least one adjective in each sentence and remember to check your punctuation. After you finish writing, draw a picture of your animal and label it with the sentences you wrote. This will help you connect your writing with your drawing.
