Let’s read the following short text together: 'UThandiwe uthanda ukufunda izincwadi. Uthanda izincwadi ezimnandi nezihlekisayo.' Notice how we can change our voice to make it sound exciting or sad. When we read, we should also pay attention to punctuation marks like commas and full stops, as they guide our reading.

Now, I will pair you up. Each pair will take turns reading the text aloud. One student will read while the other listens. Pay attention to how your partner uses their voice. After reading, discuss how the text made you feel and what emotions you noticed in your partner's reading. Remember to use punctuation to guide your reading.
