Notice how the full stop at the end of the sentence helps us know when one thought ends and another begins. We can also add more details to make our writing richer, like describing why Thandi loves the stars.

In groups of four, brainstorm a short story about a day in the life of your favorite animal. Each group will discuss what the animal does, where it lives, and what adventures it might have. After discussing, each group will write down their story, ensuring they use correct punctuation and spacing. Once finished, each group will share their story with the class.

Now it’s your turn! Write a short paragraph about your favorite place. Describe what it looks like, what you can do there, and why you love it. Remember to use full stops and commas where necessary. After writing, read your paragraph to a partner and check if they understand your ideas. Make any changes if needed.
