Let’s look at a simple story: 'UThandi uyathanda izinkanyezi. Uhlola phezulu ebusuku. Uthanda ukubona izinkanyezi ezikhanyayo.' Notice how each sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a full stop. This is important for clarity in writing.
In groups of four, brainstorm a short story about a day at the park. Each group will write three sentences. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and full stops at the end. After writing, each group will share their story with the class, practicing their speaking skills.
Now it’s your turn! Write a short paragraph about your favorite animal. Use at least five sentences. Make sure to include proper punctuation and spacing. After you finish, read your paragraph to a partner and discuss why you chose that animal.
