Let’s look at a short story: 'Mokgadi o ne a rata go etela borai ba gagwe. O etela borai ba gagwe ka letsatsi le le monate. Ba ne ba bapala le go itumelela.' Notice how the sentences are structured and how punctuation is used to separate ideas. This helps the reader understand the story better.

Now, let’s create some sentences as a class. I will say a word, and you will help me build a sentence around it. For example, if I say 'ngwana' (child), we can create a sentence like 'Ngwana o a bapala ka ntle' (The child is playing outside). Remember to use punctuation at the end of each sentence!

It's your turn to write! Think of a fun day you had and write a short story about it. Use at least five sentences and remember to include punctuation. After you finish, share your story with a partner and discuss what you liked about each other's writing.
