A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought. It starts with a capital letter and ends with a punctuation mark. The most common punctuation marks are the full stop (.), question mark (?), and exclamation mark (!). For example, 'I love reading.' is a complete sentence. Today, we will learn how to write sentences correctly and use punctuation marks to make our writing clear.

Let’s look at some examples. 'The cat is sleeping.' is a simple sentence that tells us what the cat is doing. Notice the capital letter at the beginning and the full stop at the end. Now, if we ask a question, like 'Is the cat sleeping?', we use a question mark. Lastly, for excitement, we can say, 'Wow, the cat is so cute!' which ends with an exclamation mark. Each sentence has a different purpose and uses punctuation accordingly.

Now, let’s create sentences together. I will say a phrase, and you will help me turn it into a complete sentence with the correct punctuation. For example, if I say 'The dog barks', you would say, 'The dog barks.' What punctuation do we use at the end? Great! A full stop. Let’s try another one: 'Where is my book'. How can we make this a question? Yes, we add a question mark at the end: 'Where is my book?'.

Now it’s your turn to write! I want you to write three sentences about your favorite animal. Make sure to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with the correct punctuation.
