Let's look at how to build a sentence. For example, if I say 'The cat is on the mat', we can identify the subject (the cat), the verb (is), and the prepositional phrase (on the mat). Notice how we use a capital letter at the beginning and a full stop at the end. Now, let's create our own sentences using the same structure.

I will read a short story about a boy who finds a lost puppy. As I read, listen carefully and think about what happens in the story. After I finish, I will ask you some questions. For example, 'What did the boy find?' or 'How did the puppy feel?' This will help you practice your listening and comprehension skills.

Now it's your turn to practice writing sentences. I want you to think of your favorite animal and write three sentences about it. Remember to start each sentence with a capital letter and end with a full stop. After you finish, share your sentences with a partner and read them aloud. This will help you practice speaking and listening to each other.
