Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and ideas in unique ways. Today, we will explore how to write short stories and sentences that convey our imagination. We will discuss what makes a good story, including characters, settings, and plots. By the end of the lesson, you will be able to write your own short story using the skills we practice today.

Let’s look at a simple story: 'Once upon a time, in a beautiful forest, there lived a little rabbit named Timi. Timi loved to explore and make new friends. One day, he found a hidden garden filled with colorful flowers. Timi invited all his friends to play there.' Notice how the story has a clear beginning, middle, and end. It also includes characters and a setting.

Now, let’s work together to create a story. I will ask you questions to help us build our story. First, what is the name of our main character? (Allow students to respond.) Great! Now, where does our character live? (Encourage responses.) Let’s think about what adventure our character will have. As we create our story, remember to use complete sentences and proper punctuation.

It’s your turn to write! Think of a character and an adventure they might have. Write a short story of at least five sentences. Remember to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and end with a full stop. After you finish writing, read your story to a partner and listen to their story as well. This will help you practice your speaking and listening skills.
