Tshivenda First Additional Language - Term 3 - Week 10

Guided reading is an essential part of learning a new language. It helps students understand the text better and encourages them to think critically about what they read. Today, we will read a short story in Tshivenda, discuss its meaning, and answer some questions to check our understanding.

Let’s read the story 'Muvenda na Vhathu' together. As we read, pay attention to the characters and the main events. After reading, I will ask you questions about the story. For example, 'Who is the main character?' and 'What happens at the end of the story?'

Now that we have read the story, let’s discuss it in small groups. Each group will talk about their favorite part of the story and why they liked it. Remember to listen to your classmates and share your thoughts clearly. After the discussion, each group will present their favorite part to the class.

For independent practice, I want you to write three sentences about the story we read. Make sure to use correct punctuation and spacing. For example, you can write about the main character, what they did, or how they felt. After writing, share your sentences with a partner and read them aloud.
