Let's take the phonetic sounds 't', 'a', and 'n'. When we combine these sounds, we get the word 'tan'. Now, if we add the sound 'g' at the beginning, we form the word 'gtan', which is not a valid word in Tshivenda. However, if we change the 't' to 'k', we get 'kan', which means 'to eat'. This shows how changing one sound can create a different word.
I will say a sound, and you will help me build a word. For example, if I say 's', 'u', and 'n', what word do we get? Yes, 'sun'! Now, let’s try with 'm', 'u', and 't'. What word can we form? Great! It’s 'mut', meaning 'to speak'. Let’s continue this activity with more sounds and see how many words we can create together.

For example, 'Mutu u khou bva' means 'The person is coming'. After writing, read your sentences to a partner and check if they have correct punctuation and spacing.
