We will focus on using our imagination to create characters, settings, and plots. Remember, punctuation is important because it helps our readers understand our writing better.

Let’s look at a simple example: 'U Mpho u na le nku. U ya etlhareng. U rata ku hlola swikombiso swa switshana.' This text describes a character named Mpho and what he enjoys doing. Notice how we use full stops to end sentences and capital letters to start them. This makes our writing clear and easy to read.

Now, let’s work together to create our own sentences. I will say a sentence starter, and you will help me complete it. For example, 'U Nandi u...' What can we say about Nandi? Let’s think of something she likes to do. Remember to use correct punctuation at the end of your sentences. After we create a few sentences, we will read them aloud as a class.

It’s time for you to write your own short story! Think of a character and what they like to do. Write at least three sentences about your character. Make sure to use capital letters at the beginning of each sentence and full stops at the end. Once you finish, pair up with a partner and read your story to them. Listen carefully and give each other feedback on your writing.
