This shows how changing one sound can create a different word. We can also use these words in sentences, such as 'The misku is flying.'

Now, let’s work together to create sentences using the words we built. I will say a word, and you will help me form a sentence. For example, if I say 'cat', you might say, 'The cat is on the mat.' Remember to use correct punctuation at the end of your sentences. Let’s try with the word 'dog'. What sentence can we create?

For your independent practice, I want you to choose five words from our phonics list. Write each word in a sentence of your own. Make sure to check your sentences for correct punctuation and spacing. After you finish, share your sentences with a partner and discuss any new words you learned.
