isiXhosa Home Language - Term 4 - Week 8

Guided reading is a teaching approach where students read texts at their level with support from the teacher. Today, we will read a short story in isiXhosa. As we read, I will ask questions to help you think about the story and understand it better. Pay attention to the characters, setting, and events in the story.

Let’s read the story 'Uthando Lwethu' together. As we read, I will pause and ask questions like, 'Who is the main character?' and 'What happens in the beginning of the story?' After reading, we will discuss the answers and share our thoughts about the story.

After reading the story, I will divide you into small groups. Each group will discuss the following questions: 'What did you like about the story?' and 'How did the main character feel?' Remember to listen to each other and share your ideas. I will walk around to listen and help if needed.

Now, I want you to write three sentences about the story we read. Use correct punctuation and spacing. For example, you can write about your favorite character or what you learned from the story. After you finish writing, we will share some of our sentences with the class.
