Assessment is the process of evaluating our own skills and behaviors. Reflection is thinking about our experiences and what we can learn from them. Together, these skills help us grow and improve. For example, after completing a project, we can assess what went well and what could be better next time. This helps us make informed decisions about our future actions.
Imagine you are at a party with many snack options. You see chips, candy, and fruit. To assess your choices, think about how each option affects your health. Reflect on how you feel after eating different snacks. If you choose fruit, you might feel energized, while too many chips might make you feel sluggish. This reflection helps you make healthier choices in the future.
In small groups, discuss what respectful behavior looks like in different situations, such as at school, at home, or in public. Each group will share one example of respectful behavior and one example of disrespectful behavior. After sharing, reflect on how these behaviors impact relationships and the environment around us. This will help us understand the importance of treating others well.
Reflect on your learning this term. Write down one thing you feel you did well and one area where you would like to improve. Based on this reflection, set a small, achievable goal for yourself. For example, if you want to improve your reading skills, your goal could be to read one extra book this month. Share your goal with a partner and discuss how you plan to achieve it.
