Social responsibility refers to the idea that individuals and organizations must act for the benefit of society at large. It involves being aware of how our actions affect others and making choices that contribute positively to our community. This can include helping others, being respectful, and making healthy lifestyle choices. Understanding social responsibility helps us build a better world together.

Consider the following scenario: A new student joins your class and seems shy and alone. What could you do to help them feel welcome? Possible actions include introducing yourself, inviting them to join your group during activities, or simply smiling and saying hello. Each of these actions demonstrates social responsibility by showing kindness and inclusivity.

In small groups, discuss the following questions: 1) What are some examples of social responsibility you see in your community? 2) How can we show respect to others in our daily lives? After discussing, each group will share their ideas with the class. This will help students learn from each other and understand different perspectives on social responsibility.

Reflect on what you have learned about social responsibility. Write down one specific goal you want to achieve in the next week that demonstrates social responsibility. For example, you might decide to help a classmate with their homework or pick up litter in your neighborhood. Be prepared to share your goal with the class and discuss how you plan to achieve it.
