Let’s look at a short story: 'Mokgadi o ne a le mo lefelong la gagwe, a bona ngwana a bapala. O ile a etela ngwana eo, a mo fa diphiri.' Notice how the sentences are structured and how punctuation is used to separate ideas. Each sentence tells us something new and keeps the reader engaged.
In groups of four, brainstorm ideas for a short story. Each group will choose a theme, such as friendship or adventure. Write down your ideas and then create a short story together. Remember to use punctuation marks like full stops and commas to make your sentences clear. After writing, each group will share their story with the class.
Now it’s your turn to write a short story on your own. Choose a theme that interests you and write at least five sentences. Make sure to use correct punctuation and spacing. Once you finish, read your story to a partner and discuss what you enjoyed about each other’s writing.
