Understanding these elements will help our writing become clearer and more enjoyable to read.

Let’s look at how to create a sentence. For example, the phrase 'The cat sat on the mat' is a complete sentence. It has a subject (the cat) and a verb (sat). Now, if we want to add more detail, we can say, 'The fluffy cat sat quietly on the soft mat.' Notice how we added adjectives to make the sentence more interesting. Let’s practice adding details to our sentences together.

In pairs, I want you to create a sentence about your favorite animal. Start with a simple sentence and then add at least two adjectives to make it more descriptive. For example, if your favorite animal is a dog, you might start with 'The dog barks' and expand it to 'The playful, energetic dog barks loudly.' After you finish, share your sentences with the class and discuss the adjectives you chose.

Now it’s time for you to write your own short text. Choose a topic you enjoy, such as a favorite place, a fun day, or a special event. Write at least five sentences, making sure to use correct punctuation and spacing. After you finish writing, read your text aloud to a partner. This will help you practice your speaking skills and receive feedback on your writing.
