Creative writing allows us to express our thoughts and feelings in unique ways. In Sesotho, we can use our imagination to create stories, poems, or descriptions. This week, we will focus on writing short texts that convey our ideas clearly. We will also learn about the importance of punctuation and spacing in making our writing easy to read.

Let’s look at a simple example: 'Ke bona ngwana a ntse a bapala ka ntle. O na le moputso o motle, o khanyang ka letsatsi.' This sentence describes a child playing outside. Notice how the punctuation helps us understand where one thought ends and another begins. We will practice writing similar sentences today.

In groups, choose a scene from your surroundings, like the playground or a classroom. Discuss what you see, hear, and feel. Then, each group will write a short paragraph describing the scene using proper punctuation. Remember to share your ideas and help each other with sentence structure and word choice.

Now it’s your turn! Write a short story about a day in your life or an adventure you would like to have. Use at least five sentences and make sure to include correct punctuation and spacing. After writing, read your story to a partner and discuss what you enjoyed about each other’s writing.
