Creative Arts - Term 2 - Week 8

Reflection in Creative Arts involves thinking about what you have created, the process you went through, and what you learned from it. Assessment is how we evaluate our work and the work of others. It helps us identify strengths and areas for improvement. Both reflection and assessment are important for growth as artists.

Imagine you painted a landscape. After finishing, you might reflect on what colors worked well, how you felt while painting, and what you would do differently next time. This reflection helps you understand your artistic choices and improve your skills.

As a class, we will discuss how we assess our artwork. What criteria do we use? For example, we might look at creativity, technique, and effort. Students will share their thoughts on what makes a piece of art successful and how they can use feedback to improve.

Students will create a small piece of art (drawing, painting, or collage) based on a theme of their choice. After completing their artwork, they will write a short reflection answering questions like: What did I enjoy about creating this? What challenges did I face? How can I improve next time? This will help them practice both creating and reflecting.
